This is the first Post to our Virtual Taos Blog, and there is so much I want/need to put out to everyone…but I’ll try to keep it short and simple so I don’t put you to sleep!
One of the most important things I need to say is…Sign Up and Register! So far we only have two people who have actually registered for an account on Virtual Taos. Without an account you cannot visit the simulator. In case you missed the post in our Facebook Group, here is the link to register:
When you click the link above, a new window will open in your browser. This is the Registration Page for Virtual Taos. In the upper right corner of the page you will see the heading “Main Menu”, underneath is a link to “Create Account”. Clicking this link will take you to the page where you will need to provide your name (we ask that you use your real name so that others in the Virtual Taos world will be able to identify you). You must provide a valid email address and create a password. You also have the option of choosing the gender of your Avatar.
During the next week registration emails will be sent out which have selections for the type of Avatar you wish to use in Virtual Taos. This Avatar is how others will see you in the virtual world. Right now our selection is somewhat limited, but it will be expanding in the near future. Keep in mind that you can change the appearance of your Avatar once a month, so you if you think you made a mistake, you only have to live with your virtual self for 30 days!
We have created a YouTube account where we will be uploading video tutorials to show how to install the viewer software, how to log in and how to navigate and chat within Virtual Taos. I will provide the link to the YouTube channel once we upload our first clip.
That’s all for our first post, please stay safe and again, if you have not registered, please do so as soon as possible. There is no cost to access the simulator and we would sure miss the opportunity to do the vuelta with you around the plaza!
